The Young Lawyers’ Forum invites you to an online meeting with a representative of Irish Rule of Law International which will be held on November 14, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. (Kyiv time). By the way, currently its CEO – Aonghus Kelly – is delegated to Ukraine as a senior adviser on the prosecution of international crimes committed by the Russian Federation in Ukraine. He has now taken a 6-month break from his activities to go to Ukraine.
During the event, we will discuss the following:
• Mission and activities of Irish Rule of Law International
• Cases with a video demonstration of the organization’s work in action
• Conditions necessary for joining the activities of an international organization
James Douglas is a public international lawyer with over 8 years of experience in international criminal and international human rights law. He currently serves as Executive Director for Irish Rule of Law International where he oversees projects relating to access to justice and transitional justice across many different jurisdictions. In addition, he acts as a legal advisor to Victim Advocates International where he assists Rohingya groups engage with different accountability mechanisms.
From 2013 to 2018, he served as a lawyer and investigator with the United Nations Khmer Rouge Tribunal where he worked for the Office of the Co-Investigating Judges. He also previously held positions with OHCHR and Equitable Cambodia.
