Special Project “Lawyers of the Putin Regime”: A. A. KLISHAS

International law firms suspend all cooperation with Russia, and legal communities in various countries condemn Russia’s criminal actions and support Ukrainians. The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague Karim Khan is investigating Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine in order to bring to justice representatives of Russia’s top political or military leadership. On March 16, the UN International Court of Justice has already ruled in favor of Ukraine and ordered Russia to cease military operations on the territory of Ukraine, which began on March 24, 2022.

All lawyers in the civilized world emphasize that Russia commits crimes against humanity, violates all norms of international law, but Russian lawyers have a different opinion.

Klishas AndreiAleksandrovich, Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council on Constitutional Legislation and State Building, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Laws, notes in his statements:

  • “The President of the Russian Federation acts in accordance with the Russian constitution, the resolution of the Federation Council and the norms of international law. In order to maintain peace and security, in order to counter extremism and neo-Nazism in all its manifestations”.
  • “Treaties guarantee the protection of the rights of citizens living in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, create a legal basis for the presence in these territories of Russian military units, which is necessary to maintain peace in the region”.

Other materials with quotes from Russian lawyers:

Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation.

Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Laws.
